Hi all,i have got a very large SAMCO sliding carrage table saw with the following id:- MOD - SOS , No 967407.

I have been given this by an auntie as my uncle has passed away and i wish ti onclude it in my shop (it will be a tight fit)!

Does anyone know anything about these machines and where i can obtain a user manual or web link

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi you could try looking at the SCM minimax range as i know some of there designs are the same. I have a minimax sander which is exactly the same as the Samco one.

Samco were absorbed into SCM along with Minimax about 20 years ago, so any machine bearing the Samco label is at least that age. As far as I am aware SCM no longer supply user manuals or spare parts for Samco machines other than those items which passed into the SCM-Minimax range such as the T40 spindle moulder. I'd suggest contacting an established dealer, such as Scott & sargeant, for manuals if you really need them, but frankly the main things you really need to know are how to adjust the sliding carraige and fences and how to adjust the scoring unit properly which someone here could probably answer for you

Hi if you take a look at this site it will tell you most things you need to know about setting up your saw. http://www.altendorf.com.au/

You will need to click on service and then tips and then look at the 3 pdf files.

Although not directly related to your saw the principles are the same and your saw should adjust in a simiilar way to the info in the pdf's.

I usually check my saw for square once a month or so or just before doing a large carcassing job.
