As some of you already know, my husband, Brian, died suddenly at the end of March at Frimley Park Hospital, which is why you have not heard from him in a few months. I cannot tell you what caused his death exactly, as we are awaiting PMs and an inquest.

I want you to know how much he enjoyed this forum, and the support it gave him in one of his favorite ways to relax and be productive at the same time. He learned from you, and I thank you.

Your moderators have been very helpful to me in deciding what to do with all of Brian's tools - much to my own surprise, I think I may start to use them myself - Everyone in the family has one of Brian's treasured boxes, and I have the desk I am sitting at now, and more.

There are so many wonderful pieces of furniture, boxes and other objects on display in this forum. Keep up the good work, and thanks again, from me and I'm sure from Brian, too...

Ruth

PS For those of you who enjoy geocaching, there is a memorial for Brian at this location: GC1CKT4.

Blimey, what a shock. My thoughts with you.

Condolences to you and yours Ruth, it would be a fitting tribute to Brian if his enthusiasm has resulted in a new interest for yourself.

That's very sad news, Ruth :(

It's nice that you and the family have many of the pieces Brian made. I hope you are able to use his tools - if you need any advice or help, just ask.

Cheers

Ruth - much sympathy with your loss.
If you decide to start to use Brian's tools and equipment then that would be great, there are a huge number of knowledgable people on the forum, well versed in all aspects of our hobby, so if you ever need to know anything, you know where to find us all - Rob

Deepest sympathy, Ruth - very sad news, indeed.

As others have said, it would be wonderful if you were able to continue Brian's work and allow 'White House Workshop' to live on.

Brian was a popular, friendly and helpful contributor to the forum. We're all the poorer for his departure. My condolences to you and your family, Ruth.

It's good to hear that his enthusiasm for woodwork has been passed on.

My thoughts go out to you and your family.

I didn't know Brian as I'm not a regular forum user, but as everyone else has said, my sympathy is with you. Take care, Simon.
