Maybe I did miss the point but if a company is known to have poor customer service then don't buy stuff from them at all.

All distributors and retailers will have issues, it's how they deal with them. Rutlands don't have a good track record with this given the replies here (and my own experience) but I have to admit I also fail to see how they are at fault here based on the info supplied. The OP is entitled to his rant, he just needs to accept that not everyone is going agree with his expectation. I do find it strange however that we are three pages deep into this thread but I'm not sure the original expectations have even been quantified yet. What turnaround is reasonable and what was the query (was it to haggle the price for buying more)?

In Rutlands defence I saw their first ever three star product review this year.
