Anyone who gets the Steve Good email will have seen his recommendation yesterday of the SandDevil sanding block which uses sanding belts instead of sandpaper. It looks like a handy tool and at 22USD is cheap enough - until I looked on Amazon UK and the only one available is £31.08 with £17.98 shipping. I think I'll make one instead.

Thanks for the links, gents.
Bugbear, I know what you mean about the second one, although I like his idea that pressing down will tighten the belt. Unfortunately it will slacken off too every time the pressure is taken off.

If it's of interest to anyone.......... Proops Brothers do a range of small sanders that are very useful to fretworkers!

Proops have been in business for many years and are very good to deal with.
(They also sell on ebay)
When I worked in a school we used them all the time for "classroom" order amounts of all sorts of things.

Very good prices and very nice people.

Indeed. Not sure how long they have been in business but it's at least 54 years because they were advertising in practical householder magazine at that time! :)

Sometimes, if an item is out of stock, the seller will raise the price to put people off buying the item until new stock comes in. Keeping the advert and raising the price saves the seller from having to re-list the item and paying extra listing fees to Amazon. If the seller has a lot of listings the fees can be considerable especially if the item has a fairly low value.
