Removing spent batteries from a mini-maglite torch

Just to update my own old thread...

In my searching I came across the Fenix LD40, which wasn't out when this thread was active and is a 4AA torch with a neutral colour LED (I find standard LEDs can be a bit harsh).

I bought one and am very pleased with it.

After the advice I bought a Fenix LD20 - what a revelation - so powerful I have to use the diffuser for use indoors!

I also updated my 2AA Mini Maglite with a push switch and a TerraLUX LED replacement kit - again a fantastic improvement - now 140 lumens!
