I have a piece of steel 20mm galvinished conduit and want to fit it into a 20mm bore pillow bearing.

It fits fine but i want it to be easy to remove so need to take a tiny bit off it. Whats the quickest way to take a tiny bit off it? I have most tools

How long is it?

Even if it is long, ram a dowel up the end of it, chuck the dowel up in a cordless drill, squeeze the trigger and apply sandpaper, file or flap wheel on grinder.

A third hand will greatly assist.

To do it semi-insitu, turn a sanding belt inside out and drive it with a rubber sanding drum in your cordless drill. You will need to rotate the conduit as the belt will only ever contact 180 degrees of it.

ChaiLatte has it right- a quick sanding is all that is needed (mostly because the gal coating will have actually thicked the pipe by a measurable amount)

Removing it will take the pipe back to its nominal diameter...
