I have the Record 778 and it's a masterful-rebater... :wink:

I suspect for those with deep pockets a Stanley #289 or the Veritas Skew Rabbet Plane is probably the ultimate, but I've never paid thhe needed cash.

My moving fillister and Woden #78 (twin rod, like the #778, but lever depth adjust, not the superior screw of the #778) have always served well enough.
