I bought a Racal visor a number of years ago and have only just located it. To my surprise it still works. I have given it a clean and checked the removable filter which is endorsed with an expiry date of 1999!

My question is, can you still obtain replacement filters for these visors?

I hope so!

Please let me know!

Regards

I suggest you edit the heading ............

Thanks Phil....... I got all excited when I saw someone had responded to my post! Only to see the response was due to my bad typing!

Glad I checked before going to bed!

I couldn’t see anymore typing Erus!!

I have that one. It's called the Airlite, though was told by a Racal employee that within the company, they substituted sh for the l in the name. Not sure if Racal still supply spares, but pretty sure noone else does them.

I do still use one, though not the original as that fell into pieces quite a while back. Found a S/H one locally, which cannibalised well. I'm unclear why the filters have a use-by date and the one in mine is probably, no, definitely, many years past it. I actually prefer my Record Turbovisor, though you do look a pterodactyl wearing it. It also has the advantage that the batteries are much easier to replace than those in the Racal. But again, within date filters are difficult to source.
