Thought I'd start another thread rather than hijack one. Is this the foot switch that was mentioned and if so can someone answer the following questions for me.

Does it act as a speed control like the foot switches on sewing machines?
Can it be fitted to any scroll saw as the one that I have is single speed and it would be useful if it does
Is it particularly easy to connect up as the plug would need changing...where does it fit into the circuit?

Thanks

Pete

hi pete
dont quote me on this, not sure about the proxon , but as your saw is only single speed i believe it will only act as an on/off switch.

i have a variable speed saw and my foot switch only turns it on/off i have to adjust the speed via the speed dial mounted on it, but its still great to have both hands free to move the wood around.

i dont think the foot switch will act as an accelerator.

These on/of foot switches will not work with any machine that has an NVR (No Volt Realise Switch) without disabling/rewiring the NVR.
Variable speed switches will only work with variable speed motors
