I think
Just to let you know that the problem i had with the banjo on my Hegner lathe has been solved
I used my electric sander with fine paper on and cleaned every part that is in contact with the banjo, but i think the main problem was the paint on the underside of the bed.
This was an orange peal effect, but as now been sanded smooth, and the banjo just glides along once again, though i haven't turned anything on it yet so whether the dust will be a problem i will have to wait and see,but somehow i think it won't.Fingers crossed
If this doesn't work then i will try the suggestions i have been given.
