Not sure about flattening the Kremlin. That would be sufficient to kick things off.
But I'm assuming that was tongue in cheek.
As long as the fighting remains contained in the area around the border, and the missiles we are talking about only have a range of 2-300 miles, then I very much doubt Putin is going to do anything.
If Ukraine can use these missiles, as they are doing, to cut off supplies and so forth to the Russian occupying troops in their immediate rear, then that will cause them serious problems, particularly as winter takes hold.
If they can do it effectively enough then the Russians will find themselves unable to hold the ground and may be forced to withdraw.
If they are in a fairly precarious position to start with that might not take long, that remains to be seen.
Many reports suggest that Russia's troops are really the bottom of the barrel now, poor quality and poor morale. If that is true then their positions could collapse quite quickly if they find themselves increasingly isolated without supplies of ammunition, fuel etc. Russian logistics look to have been pretty poor from day one, might quickly collapse entirely if the Ukrainians start taking out all their supply dumps.
Let's hope that can happen before Trump wields his entrepreneurial genius and sells Ukraine out to Putin.

Meanwhile this made me laugh this morning. It seems much of the world isn't interested in the antics of Trump's 'efficiency tzar'.

Not that I expect Putin gives a damn about his own troops, but yes, if this could hinder Russian operations it may allow for a resolution that's a bit more favourable to the Ukraine. We can but hope.

Nearly there!
Brexit certainly was a concern but was not in our interests.

They voted for brexit. Was that in your interests?
No - but you clearly misunderstand what democracy means:

The word democracy comes from the Greek words "demos", meaning people, and "kratos" meaning power; so democracy can be thought of as "power of the people": a way of governing which depends on the will of the people.

I accept that others entitled to vote clearly thought otherwise and thus accept the outcome - however much I may disagree.

Just for accuracy (!) the 30 yr old ATACMS missile system has an active range of 300 km/180 mls. They’ve been used for the last two yrs by Ukraine within the confines of it’s sovereign territory.

LOL LOL LOL
It's so funny I can hardly type for laughing at some of the reactions on here. It's as if I was fishing in a garden pond.
Stop getting so wound up...why are you lefties so full of hate and bile?
After all it's only someone with a different opinion but it seems that isn't allowed in LeftWorld and really indicates the true intolerance of your average left winger which would give Far Right extremists a run for their money where intolerance and hate are concerned...I personally just couldn't enjoy life with so much dysfunction swirling around in my head.

One doesn't even need to be a troll to wind you lot up, all one needs is an alternative opinion to your rabid left wing view of the world and you see it as if it's bait to be taken!

Personally I think Trump will arguably make a better president than the dung head he's replacing or the loser in the presidential election race....that's my opinion and if you think I'm wrong then tough. People in this world are allowed to have differing opinions without being subject to abuse simply because the keyboard warriors of this world don't agree with opinions not in sync with theirs.

If Ukraine had been given the weapons it needed back in 2022 then it wouldve prevented Russians building defences and bedding down into a protacted grinding war

Over the course of 2 years, the West has slowly trickle fed more capability into Ukraine and every time Putin has whined about crossing red lines.....and done nothing

this is why those who are falling for Trump propaganda, need to think more about the reality

And no Bidens move is not an escalation -please go and look at the detail, rather than media slogans

Putin's hypocrisy is wonderful isn't it; he's allowed to lob whatever he likes at Ukrainian soil, but it's a completely outrageous escalation if they do the same.

As a rule, I hate to use the word thick and desperately try to avoid it.

Oh I love it. I'm also (clearly) partial to "i-d-i-o-t", "a bit dim" and "cretinous" is always a firm favourite. "Cretinous mass" when I'm really in the mood. :D.

Sadly "spacker" has fallen out of favour and is No Longer Allowed.

This post is brought to you by the Let's Test The Forum Censor Society and is likely to get me into trouble. I'm not calling anyone any of these things though (simpering :) ) .

Indeed. From Georgia to the Crimea, and now to the Ukraine, Putin has demonstrated that tut-tutting from other world leaders means precisely zero. Leaving him alone and hoping he won't "do it again" clearly doesn't work.

Including territory (like Crimea) which Putin (wrongly) has declared to be Russian. And yet funny enough we're all still here without being nuked, just a few missile factories and submarine dockyards having 'events' and atlantic internet cables being threatened. MAD is kind of mad, but it's hard to conceive of a bigger more blindingly obvious deterrent.

Trump is only interested in short term, so he wont care that negotiating a surrender agreement with Putin will just delay more instability.

And his supporters are blind to the detail

Stop getting so wound up...
says Tony foaming at the mouth

hey Tony Old Bean, its only you getting wound up and spewing endless insults.

have a bit of self reflection, maybe with a nice cup of tea -Ive heard Chamomile tea is very soothing

you seem like the type that might like to try mediation :ROFLMAO:

When folks describe MAD as madness in a negative way, I tend to think of them as a bit mad. Ho ho ho.

Nothing else has kept global peace to the level that MAD has. Nuclear weapons are great. Sadly.

I don't have Tony on ignore, but I am avoiding responding; I really don't think any of this is doing him any good.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (former best buddy of McCain, now sadly transformed into an abject Trump tool) said on Fox (I think, only saw a clip) yesterday that Ukraine has the biggest reserves of rare earth minerals in Europe, and Trump's deal would ensure that the US got all their money back. So it sounds like he's going to try to betray them both on territory and on extracting resources for US companies.

Many years ago, I made a Twitter account as a friend was using and enjoying it. I just worked through the series of hoops to re-enter my account (after nearly as many years of not using it) and deactivated it - apparently, after 30 days, it's deleted. That should send Musk reeling.
