I think he should be made a moderator
The forum will get cluttered up with add ons that later get sold off cheap because they become boring.

That's the funniest thing I've seen all day!

Which quote?

any more for any more? No one's mentioned my finger injury yet ?

I'll take a pop that this isn't due to repetitive typing syndrome :))

erm I was shocked when I just checked the members list. I didn't for one minute think you was talking about me. I thought I was around the 5k mark.

I did point out to you back in March that you had made 2800 posts in the previous 6 months! That's an average of around 15 posts/day!!

I'm not sure what's worse, me posting 15 posts a day or you working out the math!!!

Er...time wasted:

me, doing a quick mental calc - 2-3 seconds
you, making 2800 posts....

:D :D :D

Turning slightly serious, for a moment, I wonder whether your high posting rate is partly symptomatic of a fault that I tend towards at times, namely striving to improve by reading and absorbing as much info and advice as possible, whereas to some extent we would make better progress by getting out there and just cutting wood!

cheers
Dave

Well as a high poster myself I can easily explain my high count. Bad back!

Roy.

I don't know Dave, there are reasons I'm 'here' a lot but they probably sound like excuses. I've learned a great deal from this forum over the years and I genuinely try to give back as much as I can. Some people obviously think I need to get a life or just want me to bugger off but some people don't get what they want.

Fair comment Tom. I joined this forum, and a few others after I came out of hospital. I couldn't even stand never mind do wood work, but at least I could chat about my hobby and interests with others, and like you I have a bad back, as a result I can only work for short periods and then need to sit. So I sit here.
By the way, I'm gaining on you!

So raising the subject added another 7 not long now.

a tad under 1400 to go - so at his current posting rate less than 100 days to go ( I'm not sad enough to work it out exactly , but i'm sure somone with far too much time on there hands will)

That's me too Roy, like yourself and Tom it's being unable
to be out in the shed that got me to join w/working forums
so i can learn enough to be confident i can do a job right
when i "do" get myself "repaired". And i must say also
if i did'nt have access to the internet at home i might
have been tempted to do something stupid when at my lowest
point, sometimes i've been so down in the past nothing would
help the black clouds to lift. Even now i visit here 2 or 3 times
a day but don't join in posting every time because i'm so
peed off with life. :(

I assume that you are talking about depression Kev, bin there, done that etc, in fact the only thing that kept me a live was the fact that I had a young family to support.
BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel mate, if you haven't attempted to get help I would urge you to do so.

Of course, I wasn't suggesting those 2800 posts were a waste of time - hope it didn't read as such. And of course I do realise there are reasons why you don't spend as much time in the workshop as you'd like.

I too have learnt loads here, but I think there is a limit to how much knowledge and advice can replace experience. It would be so much easier, were it not so, but then the sense of accomplishment would be diminished also.

Think I'm completely OT now, so I'd better shutup!! :D
