Thanks custard - there is a corresponding hole it's sitting in to display it out at an angle. That's a smart solution to the problem of preserving and displaying a special artefact. The gothic styling works well and the grain is nicely symmetrical. A 6mm wide, 3mm deep hole in the base would have been useful to locate the bottom of the stem, but doesn't change the fact that what you've achieved is really commendable.
