just finished this for the camper, yes from pallet wood junk i will show you pieces of wood before and after, I just cannot help myself at times. It's basic but it is actually a middle section that is going to between two armchairs I've made that unfold and all three pieces turn into a bed, the full project when done i will of course share. Anyway, I have a crystal glass chess set that is going bang in center so when out in the wilderness yodeling and hugging trees before I kiss them goodbye and start the chainsaw up lol, so meanwhile picture two armchairs with this between them and a chessboard on top. This way I have a bed and two chairs for my mate and me to watch or listen to music when we are camping and when bored with that I can thrash the pants off him at chess lol. It took some work sanding it and eliminating the curve ( been in the back garden for a year. I hope this winter I've saved some money to buy a lathe for the shed and get working on some long projects, the anxiety relieving ones lol , gonna run out of pallet wood some day :(

Here's today's meagre offerings, several failed attempts followed by these...
This started out as a bud vase and somehow became a mushroom shaped bud vase 🤷‍♂️🤪

these two little mushrooms are about 3 inches tall and are the only two I managed out of 6 pieces of oak I had cut

Just made this little fella:

The design is from David Wakefield’s amazing book Animated Animal Toys in Wood.

Now I need to make another one in time for Christmas or I will be in big trouble with my twin daughters. 😅

@BCS1980UK I just ordered that book. Did you make the whole thing? The wheels look really good. I take it his tail goes up and down? How long did it take to make? He is seriously cool.

Hi Hugh,
The wheels I bought on Amazon. I just had to enlarge the holes with a reamer to fit the 8mm dowels.
The tail indeed moves (not a lot) as the back wheels turn.
In total it must have taken me 7-8 hours of work. I don’t have a bandsaw just a Dremel kind of mini scroll saw, but it worked fine for this.
