How did she get out of the kitchen? :-D

Or even into your shed where you keep the chisels ?

We have way too many knives in our kitchen drawer with bent tips where they have been use to try and open paint tins. Luckily she keeps telling me I 'hide' things in our garage, and as consequence never goes out there to use tools as that would disprove the hiding hypothesis.

Hope your chisel recovers.

I read your post to my wife Phil , and she looked at me blankly as if expecting a punch line. Now I'm nervous. I have an old locker downstairs for random storage ... think I'll look for any locks that may be around the house.

I'm really not sure what I would say to my other half. She was prone to hammering in picture hooks with big stones off the dyke now I come to think of it. It's not for lack of hammers either. All nails, screws, pins etc. are now locked in the shed!

I just stood in silence while swmbo cut a hose pipe. On a concrete block. With an 1 1/2" paring chisel. With a hammer. #-o

And how long have you been married ? - looks like a training failure to me :)

I just read the thread to my missus, she understood it, said with a measure of surprise 'why would she use a chisel' unfortunately followed with 'I'd have used a saw, they can cut concrete can't they'

Extra lock put on the workshop already.

:D :D My other half has her own tools including a hammer drill I don't need to do an awful lot in the house, I come indoors and find new bits and bobs hanging on walls one day with all the drilled holes and the extra weight the house is gonna fall down just hoping i'm long gone to that other place in the sky.

THIS is why you buy a set of chisels from aldi :D

That and the sons and various folks who want to "borrow" my pretty things.

Indeed. I fixed my wench up with her very own tool kit (comprising stuff I would otherwise chuck away / bought from pound shop) after an "incident" cutting chicken wire. She does't use it, but at least she has no excuse for going into my workshop. Except to bring tea and egg sandwiches obviously.

In return I don't go into her potting shed either. The way she treats garden tools that I have cleaned and sharpened is enough to make a grown man cry.

'Er indoors is much the same, cutting up firewood, can't wait for me, last year, broke my chopsaw  then broke my lovely Makita jigsaw .
So I bought her her very own jigsaw, next thing "it's no good"! and "won't cut", I look and see so many flat teeth, I put a new blade in, so it must be the blades and not the chewed up metal frame of the workmate.
Then yesterday, "can't get the saw in the case, bloody things useless" she's trying to put everything in the lid.
If she had twice as many brains, she'd be a fekin' halfwit!
And she's the one with all the A levels

I have started shouting BANG every time the wife slams a cupboard door, its not working.

Perhaps using perfume for fly spray and fancy boots for hammers would yield "results"?
