PM help required

How do I get a message in my outbox of the PM system to actually go?
I have two messages to go, but no matter what I do, they are just sitting there, and haven't appeared in the sent box.

The recipient hasn't read them yet. They go to "sent" automatically when they do.

Don't know why, I was expecting it to be like E-Mail, press "send" to make it go.

It does "go" when you press send but if the recipient does not check and has not set up to be notified of new mail, then they won't get read.

Look at the recipients profile and see when they last logged in as an indication of their activity.
