As to tricky taps, I would have been impressed if you could have accessed the one in my last house when it came loose. It was halfway down the bath. Actually quite handy having them there for not having to move the fixed shower screen when bathing the kids but when it came loose I was cursing. I eventually conceded to taking the bath out. I think I only failed to reseal it sufficiently once…..
I’ve always enjoyed challenges and I don’t like to be beaten. I usually go with - the original fitter managed it - trick is to work out how 🤔🤔
 
Found a few picks of job in question- the red marks were the original tap positions, the new plywood was because there was nothing behind to seal the bath to . Had to let it dry out for several days . The pic shows the new bath jammed into position so I called it a day and went home . got it sorted next day ..
