Hi

When the machine tries to draw the softner from the drawer down into the drum it is not washing through the drawer properly. Water is certainly getting into the drawer but it doesn't seem to wash the comfort out leaving the drawer full of watered down comfort and not very soft washing. The drawer should be empty at the end of the cycle.

I've cleaned out the drawer and the hole it slides into but don't know what else to look at, any ideas? It is the middle compartment in the picture, with a flappy bit that folds down at the back, which all seems correctly seated. Picture was taken after I cleaned it out.

Don't know if this helps, I think the idea is that water fills the compartment until its full then it then syphons into the machine, in which case is there any thing stopping the syphon action? like a gap in a seal, or not enough water to fill it etc.

I think you are on the right lines. As Chris said, there is a siphon - did you find a bit that you could lift off to clean inside? Maybe using a pipe cleaner would help.

You should be able to hold the drawer assembly over the sink and make it flush out by filling it from the tap or a jug.

But the best advice is to read this article:

Try taking the drawer out and pouring very hot water down the back as that often helps. Also check your water pressure as if it's too low it cause cause this.

I used to work for Bosch amongst others when I left school fixing domestic appliances but forgotten more than I remember.

I,ve now done all I can. Thanks for the link Andy, very informative.
Am now thinking this is the valve playing up, time to find a washing machine repair man
Cheers
