Hi all, long time no post. Having now moved out of London and into the wilds of Kent we have decided to get some chickens, as you do! I of course plan to build a house for them myself rather than buy one (which do seem really expensive).

Has anyone got or come across any plans for building one. Think I have got the basics but would be useful to see some plans of what is required etc. Want to get 6-8 chickens so house needs to be big enough for that number but can adjust any plans to incorporate this.

Cheers

Thanks for the useful links guys. Really helped to see a couple of examples. Will let you know how it goes.

I have no plans, but this site has some very thoughtful looking designs which may inspire you.

No plans either but when I made ours I received strong advice about the roofing material. 'Despite what you see on most commercially available houses avoid roofing felt.' Apparently the dreaded red spider mite thrive underneath roofing felt. I used bitumen corrugated sheets for my roof (available from Wickes) and haven't had any problems.

cheers
