Just completed a little project for home. Using up some bits and bobs that were laying around. Legs are slightly tapered- it was a compromise between function and what I wanted to build- I fancied something very spindly and delicate looking but it wasn't practical for where it is going.

Euro oak and a pippy oak top. Finish is shellac and teak black bison wax.

Very nice. I wish I had pippy oak laying around instead of old contiboard :)

it used every inch of the piece that I had! It was half a board that I bought to make a jewellery box, and was the less pippy half. I thought I may as well use it now, laying around was a bit blase!

I wish I had old contiboard laying around instead of damp MDF!

Nice table marcros. 8) Excuse my ignorance, but is black bison a colour or a brand?

it is a brand- made by liberon. They do a range of colours- this one was teak, although the name colours dont really relate to the timber they are named after. Maybe they do, but not in my limited experience.

I only mentioned it because 18 months ago, when I was looking for wax, and knowing nothing, there wasnt a huge amount to go on the forum, and I had no real idea what people used.

Thanks for that fella, very helpful. My (limited) experience also supports the theory that colour names and actual colours are two different things.
