I have just test driven a 2012 (4500 mls) 207sw 120 hdi and am concerned when I change gear..there is a very clunky sound from the bottom of the gearstick as I changed gears, which I felt and heard!!
Salesman says its usual for that model!!!?
Any comments....

Could be a clutch problem?

Friend had a brand new Ford Focus on which the clutch literally exploded, making a hole in the casing!

Ford initially said it was driver abuse!! They later capitulated and repaired it.

Avoid this car like the plague.

@lastminute.

Agree 100% with all the above. My wife has one which I sometimes drive myself and sometimes I ride passenger when she drives. It's 4+ years old (but at 60+ thousand Km I guess wouzld be considered fairly low mileage for that age) but we've NEVER heard a peep from the gearbox/change mechanism (or anything else untoward come to that). Overall a nice little car.

That salesman doesn't know what he's talking about (or OTOH, perhaps he does!!!).

Stay away from it.
