Must have been a restful night last night then, first reply wasn't 'till after breakfast. Perhaps a new forum section, a virtual pub called The Wailing Insomniac", where we can sit and sip Ovaltine and gossip about everyone else, the vitues of Tramadol and Amatryptaline
:)

I got some sinus problems after a cold, it can be quite painful at times. Been on different pain meds for it, the most effective for getting sleep, as it's worst at night, has been this codeine/acetaminophen stuff I had left over after having my tonsils taken out. Hopefully it's over soon. Ketoprofen is also good.

I find that brownies help calm my aches and pains marvellously well. Did I mention I dip them in brandy?

More like I'mATrampoline
Jesus H Christ. I've been in some shapes over the years, but wow! Them fe***rs are something else.
"Help you sleep" says the quack.
Help me sleep, you must be figging joking. Red mist came down big time, gave me the strength of 20 horses, wanted to fight anyone and everyone, pulled the door mirror straight off the car and for the first time ever got me and her close to splitting up.
No. No. No, never ever again

Tramadol and Diazepam are my popping pills of choice. Nice and mellow, that's me

Codeine definitely messes with my stomach - the apprentice usually knows all about it if I've had a bad night 'cos it can get a bit 'windy' in the workshop the next day.

To be honest it doesn't really do much for my back pain - it's more useful to help me get some sleep (thats where the JD comes in)

Zeddedhed,....... you should try my nightly cocktail .... Naproxen - Paracetamol - Tramaol -Gabaentin & Gabapentin ..... and I guarntee that the aprentice's would not stay around when it gets 'windy'. That's the dose 3 times a day, but it's good stuff.

The doctor tried to give me that stuff as a sleep aid once. I didn't research it, took one tablet and spent the entire day feeling sick. The rest of it went back after I looked it up.

Is there such a thing as an effective, non-addictive pill which will induce sleep and correct sleep patterns, other than Nytol et al? The doctors just seem to want to get you out of the door as fast as possible these days and prescribe pills where drowsiness is a side effect rather than the purpose of the drug!

Me too, only my pains are emanating from the Missus! 5am this morning and she's just gone off for a 6:45 acupuncture session while I get the kids ready for school. Think this is all post chemotherapy related.

All you pain sufferers have my sympathy, I have my share but generally not chronic like many of you. Time to get sketching those ambitious projects for when the weather warms up!
