Word gets around quickly hen you start turning doesn't it. I have just been given two bits of beech, big enough for a couple of pot pouri dishes or boxes, a 152 square piece of mahogany and had a phone call asking if I can use Horse chestnut as someone has just had to cut down a 50 year old tree that had become a hazard in the storms. Add a 4' plank of wood that is hard as nails and anonymous, (I'll post a pic and see if anyone can recognise it) All I need now is a chuck and a rough gauge. The one I had was inherited and the way it bent when I had a catch makes me think that it isn't much good. I am going to try to do some stuff with a jam chuck. I have a few blanks I have made that I will need to chuck to do anything with.
