I got the rest of the Oak workroom units finished today and will be fitting them next week. It has taken longer than I expected as I had a few problems getting the cornice right.

I had a dry assembly so I could square it up and fit the doors as there isn't much room to work on site.

The shelves are adjustable fitted on Tonk strips and the left hand side will be against a wall so will have a scribing strip attached.

The cornice is fitted temporarily for the photo as it will be fitted to sit against the ceiling when in place. ;)

Looks good Alan, my only question is why aren't the door panels a match or is it the image quality?

No that was the best match I could get on them Bob as this is what they sent me in the boards. I think they were from different batches.

When I do book matched panels I either
1/ get them veneered
2/ tell your supplier you will send them back if they don't match
3/ ask if you can have 3 or 4 delivered and pick the pair

I had to have 7 matching 2000 x 600 doors with 400mm top boxes for a dressing room in walnut, ordered 12 sheets of 10ft x 4ft boards picked 5 matching ones and sent the others back. If you have a good relationship with your supplier they are normally pretty good. I use timbmet for most of my stuff, I have a bit of buying power I suppose but not massive.

Really lovely workmanship - that's something I'd be proud to own (let alone produce).

Can I ask what was the approx cost of the material?

And is any of it veneered?

Thanks for the info Bob. i do have quite a good relationship with my supplier (my local timber merchant) As I do buy a lot of board materials from them. I shall ask them next time and see if they will play ball. I have refused panels in the past due to them being damaged so will see what they say about the matching panels for the next lot. I may have a job coming up with 18 Walnut veneered panels so it should give me a bit of leverage by buying in bulk. Yes Bob, I did make all of the moulding.
Flynnwood, materials were in the region of £750 and all of the panels are veneered. Solid wood was used for the door frames, edgings, columns and coving.
