Miles away - totally impractical...
My 805 did not come with an NVR switch. Rather than repace the current switch with an NVR, I am thinking of fitting an NVR in line on an extension lead so that I can use it for a number of machines. Anyone spot a problem with this?

2nd question... Anyone know the power of the Xcalibur 805 in Kw? Mine is specced at "1.5hp" - I've no idea what this equates to in Kw.

Cheers

In simple terms ignoring all the, What if's, But's etc. that can occur with AC power.

One Horse Power is equal to 746 watts (Volts X Amps).

Therefore your 1.5 HP motor consumes 746 X 1.5 watts = 1119 watts

Moving decimal point to a more likely ballpark figure 1.2 Kilowatts.

This will be exceeded on startup for a few seconds whilst the motor is accelerating under load.

The kilowatt rating is more than likely on the motor ident plate.

But is that input power or output power? I don't know how efficient induction motors are - I guess they vary a lot though.

Thank you.

No idea if the 1.5hp is input or output, I had assumed the latter as I've never seen input measured in "HP".

Sounds as though 2kw will be OK, even allowing for startup consumption.

Cheers

I've been using the Trend NVR in my router table to power my 3hp router since I built it.. so far it hasn't missed a trick..
