Hi all,
I don't know about where you are, but it's been a bit wet round here lately.

We are having the Nottingham Bash just 2 weeks on Saturday, and whilst it beggars belief that this can go on for ever, few of us would have thought it could go on this long.

So what are the options? We could carry on assuming all will be well, and brave it out and cancel it at the last moment if that was necessary, or we could look for an indoor venue.

There is a decent Village Hall not far away, although I've no idea whether it's available. If we do that it means everyone chucking in a bob or two.

I really do hope that things pick up, I think we could have a great day, but our house is not big enought to house 30-odd woddies indoors comfortably.

What are people's views?

Cheers
Steve

Hi,
I don't mind chipping in for the hall, I would say this weather can't last for ever, but this is england!!! what about hiring a marque? do you have the space for one?.

Steve

Tell me about it
I've been trying to get my garden sorted so next weekend we could have a family party to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday

Ah well just have to wait until her next 70th birthday

Steve it can't possible rain anymore

but if it does I'm happy to go along with any plans and contributions

Ps we could go down the local pub now that smoking is banned :)

Regards

Andy

I've been told that there is no sign of the weather improving at the moment and I think the Village Hall sounds a good idea.

I'm happy to chip in, and better to sort it now rather than wait until the last minute, parking might be easier too?

If it is wet for the British GP this coming weekend then the rain will stop the following day. Not that helpful but thats usually what happens.

More than happy to chip in for the hall if it is free - worth provisionally booking it if you can?
Summer has to kick in at some time......
Philly :D

Count me in for contribution

Regardless of the weather, it would be worrying if the "hordes" damaged your home & garden. As someone says parking would be easier too thus no upeset neighbours.

By the way ignore the pessimists, its going to be sunny.

OK I'll see what I can do, although, as I say, it may not be available.
Actually, parking is probably easier here at home than at the Memorial Hall, IIRC. But it does have a few rooms and a kitchen.

If you are planning to make sawdust, bring a broom :)

I say we still have it here if at all possible.

If we need a bit of light shelter, I bet several members have those pop-up gazebo thingies, we could put one or two up in the garden. I have a (non-pop-up) one, but it's not waterproof. We'll see how it develops, shall we?
