Have tried to make the pictures smaller and taken new ones at a smaller resolution but still seems to come out huge on the preview. Have given up! No offence has been taken by me so please no more comments!

Bloonose, have a look at the free picture software called XnView. It allows you to resize your photos (using any resolution) to any size (800x600 is good for the forum). It does a lot more than just resize, PM me if you want more info.
