He has always loved wolves and we were racking out r brains trying to think what to get him. As we tend to buy meaningful things or make them i our family SWMBO knocked this up for him last night.

Absolutely stunning, she has certainly been hiding a remarkable talent for far too long.

Thanks everyone. I'll get her over to see your comments later. She has always done pen and ink sketches so this sort of thing is probably her first love. Clever little lady

Hi Pete,

No disrespect to your turning but Sue's pyroing is the real star here.

Really beautiful pyroing and an excellent composition.

Much respect to you Sue, awesome teamwork.

Cheers,

Lee.

My turning is irrelevant here Lee, just the basic disc with a rim. She has also taken a few pretty naff turnings and managed to make them into something worthwhile by burning them  Useful sort of wife to have

That's lovely, Pete,

I also think it's better to make gifts, but after a fatal dig-in which ruined a nice Yew box I had been working on for my Mum, I'm starting to think that Amazon has a lot to offer!!

All the best, Steve

Pete,
That's brilliant - how much to get one made for my wife - she loves wolves? :)

I'll ask the missus. The tuning is a quickie, so price would be based on th pyro. I'll PM you if you are serious.

Pete

Hi Pete,

Love it.

My only attempt at Pyro was to set fire to the chimney. I thinks I'll let my wife take care of this side of things too.

Superb work again Sue,they just get better and better with each one you do :D
Nice looking turning as well Pete :D
You sure he wasn't after a season ticket for THE WOLVES.

"Yer only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

What were you using? A blowlamp!!!

Ah well,

Actually I wasn't working at the time!! It was a bit off topic!

It was a rather chilly Sunday morning here in deepest France (not as deep as your bit though) and, as is my won't, I had been to get the croissants and was sitting down to brekkie with a good strong coffee to read the Sunday papers on-line and forgot that I had banked the woodburner up as the morning was a bit taters. I looked round as I thought I heard a noise and there were red glowing thingies dropping onto the TOP of the fire!! I had managed to ignite the old tar that had dropped onto the registration board.

The pompiers (firemen to the others) were amused to find it had gone out by the time they arrived but better safe than sorry. Caused a bit of a stir in the village at that time in the morning, all flashing lights and sirens an' stuff.

I expect it was burning well on the diet of all my er.... learning curves.

As an aside, if you find shakes all the way round a bowl after you have turned it, do you carry on or accept the inevitable? I've just done the last of the woodpile cedar and the cracks run right to the lip on two rather nice shapes. There must be a way of avoiding all this wasted time. X-ray vision anyone?
