I thought that was interesting. I've often pointed out that a super sharp blade rapidly looses it's super edge and becomes merely "sharp". Hence super sharpening is somewhat impractical, and possibly pointless.5. The wear at the tip does not result in as much blunting of the edge as might be expected from this loss of material because wear at the top and bottom of the blade lead to some self-sharpening of the blade (see Figure 2).
