Just joined this forum as I've taken up scrollsawing in order to keep me off the streets in retirment.
wood seems to have always present being a proffesional violinist for over 40 yrs working as a studio musician.
Also studied bow making for string instruments in the last ten yrs so pernambuco wood was the material.
Ill post some pics -- interesting wood now on CITES list
Im hoping to get some advice an sourcing wood for Scrollsaw other than builders merchant stuff -- mostly thick , boring pine
Used ply and MDF up till now but would like to get some varieties with nice grain etc that don't take all day to cut through
Any advice welcome
Cheers
