The prime thing with trying to turn anything on the large size is to get it as balanced as possible before switching on the lathe then lathe vibration is reduced to a minimum.

As your lathe is fitted with bearings and components nearer the budget end of the spectrum this is even more relevant.

This old thread will give an indication of what can be tackled with care. on a similar maybe even lower cost version of the lathe.

See what you mean about getting it ballenced first I dont want to bugger up the bearings.cheers for the info
