Just seen this on the market and boy is it a beast , Just look at the size and unique feature , Wow.

Yep WOW that is a beast. That sliding bed extension, someone has been a wood turner or listened to our needs.

That puppy is the same as the Rikon 70-3040 that has been out for 2 or 3 years. Funny thing is that about 9 or so years ago I was poking around Alibaba and came a cross the same lathe without any brand name. Price was between $2000 and $3,000 plus shipping for one. Only just beginning to buy direct from China I had reservations about buying such an unknown so didn't look to close into getting one. Maybe I should have. The one thing I think would make a great addition to the lathe would be a variable speed function to the bed extension along with a DRO for drilling deep holes. Might be nice rather than having to wind the tailstock in and then out multiple times to clear chips and sliding the tailstock in and out to clear really deep holes.
