New flower tea light candle holder , i cut this out on axminster 250 bandsaw but i thought i would post on here anyway , mainly doing them to practice something simple on the bandsaw as not got a lot of experience with it , found the dynamics compared to the scroll saw interesting but getting better with practice , its not perfect but i think it looks ok , i see if any sell next week

Hi Mark. That is a very nice candle holder, it is unusual and it will sell. I would make another couple if I were you. At Saturdays craft fair there was a guy selling a variety of stuff he had made and he had several chunky candle holders with T lights in them and they sold very well. The selling point is the unusual shape, people cannot buy that in any shop and people want things that are individual rather than mass produced in China and when people come to a craft fair they know they are going to get things that are hand made and that is one of the reaons so many people come to craft fairs.

thanks for the encouragement guys much appreciated !! i came up with the idea as i wanted another shape to complement the love heart shape ones that i do (see below) i know have two tea light shapes to give a bit of choice , i suppose the possibilities are endless , one i thought of was maybe a simple christmas tree shape

Did you see me saw 8) 8) .Go have a look .

Do you use a fostner bit to make the hole for the holders Mark ??

No reason why they shouldn't sell as they are very attractive to look at Mark.

Hi Mark,

Do you put the tealight directly into the hole or use a glass liner of some sort ? Wasn't sure how hot they would get against the timber ?

Cheers, Paul
