My favourite greatest ever guitarist is Jeff Beck and has been for over 50yrs. Django was excellent but in the similar era, so was Les Paul.
Got him to sign the back of my Telecaster many moons ago when I was sound crew on Later with Jools

I've got to ask, who was your favourite musician to work with on that show?
Can’t really say there were so many. You tend to remember only the awkward ones. David Bowie was great, after the show wrapped he asked the audience if they wanted to hear more? Of course they did and he and his band started to play a few more numbers. There was frantic chats on talkback whether or not to cut the power to stop him and who was going to pay for the crew overtime
It was recorded although I don’t believe ever aired.

Two very different bits of music that I love the start of:

King Creosote & Jon Hopkins - Diamond Mine

And Verdi's Simon Boccanegra - My favourite opera!

And yes I have very eclectic tastes in music

I'm really enjoying this thread, thanks Rob.
Here are a couple of tracks that create an dangerous foot-tapping twitch so no sharp tools allowed:

I like having sounds in the workshop, Nowadays it is Radio Caroline on 648mw and it is an eclectic varied choice of music where you will never hear todays pop garbage played.
The worst station i have ever heard is Heart fm, same ten songs on endless repeat all day long, introduced by breathless gushing dj's who love the sound of their own self importance. A station for dullards & prosecco addled blonde housewives.
When fairing boats the repetetive large scale of the job requires a good sound system with AC/DC or similar, this boosted productivity no end.
Playing Ministry or Butthole Surfers as in the car tends to drive you too fast!

Bit of a delemma . I like meat loaf on whilst I work, like others I zone out when turning,
For me it’s the bleep bleep phone calls from .”I just want to sale/con you” calls
I have to answer the phone (family probs medical and g kids) so I have to have the 📞 in the workshop.
The cold callers seem to get upset for some reason when I tell them I am going to ram the yard long length of 4*2 (inches) down the phone and into their ear if they don’t stop calling .
I don’t want bleep bleep option b on my sky account, that I don’t have, I tell them quite honestly, I believe I have more than one brain cell, and can ask if I want a service/goods
