My 2yr old ryobi ets 1825 has recently decided to give up. When i start the saw the motor runs for a second or so then as the revs increase the 13A plug fuse blows. I split the motor and there are signs of overheat and a blackened field coil. Good old ryobi quoted me £ 230 for a new motor. Im not remotely competent with electrics but does this sound like a motor issue or could it be the capacitor ?. any advice would be a godsend.

Axminster Tools. Top Fellas !. i was drooling over the ts200 as i occasionally do and noticed they produce a very similar saw to the ets 1825. I sent an e mail to see if the motors were compatible and got a swift reply from Ian Daley. It looks like the motor may be compatible and at £ 110 delivered its a great deal. Ryobi my arse !
