Hi all, I'm just about to draw up my mitre station which will go along the 4.8M (188.9763779528 inch) wall. Any advice on what to build it from and construction methods? I don't want to to break the bank so I was thinking CLS or PSE reswood with a 18mm ply top but I'm open to any suggestions. Also what's the deal with the dust hood I've seen some people have shrouding their mitre saws, does it just collect dust at the back and you vac it out or am I missing something?

Sounds good....

You could put a well behind the saw connected up to your DX as well as a hood??

DX? (dust extractor?) I was thinking a well into a bucket or something, not decided on how to tackle my dust extraction yet. That's another post yet to come, I've got an old extraction unit in my current little workshop but it's really pants, clogs up really quick when I use the thicknesser. Have a small festool vac for my rail saw too but apart from that not invested in anything serious yet but I will need to soon.
