Please see attached dimensions of bush as purchased from Colchester (600 Group) some years ago.

This can be marked with a file, so that will allow some assessment of its hardness as supplied by the OEM.

1.52" would make sense, given that I hit the stated 1.5" OD for MT4.5 and it seats a bit too deep in the spindle bore.

Interesting. Says 1.5" OD but not that they're tapered. I've sent the seller a message.
I assume they are sleeves for a 1 1/2 inch capstan head. So 1 1/2 inch straight shank with MT bores. Good price. You could either use the MT 3 as is in a four jaw chuck, or mount it on a MT 3 taper and machine the outside to a taper to give you your adaptor. At 1.5 it's a bit under compared to the dimensions posted by Chai Latte but I would have thought would still work, just sit a bit further into the bore. He's got three MT 3 so scope to experiment.

Yea, I got a reply - they are straight OD. It's a fair point about them being good for experimenting though. I'll give it some thought.
