Well I think I have reached my mid life crisis and have bought myself an early Christmas gift. Having a couple of friends who are bikers and needing a new hobby I am now the proud owner of this:

Roll on next summer! :D

Sooner or later though Alan you will see the light and buy yourself the ultimate man toy - a Landrover!!!!!

Yes keep safe - there's several road around where I live with warnings aimed at motorcyclist of a certain age!

Nice bike, I am more of a sports bike rider, when the weathers good enough, usually off the road over winter when it gets to icy.
Its getting close to that time, it was cold this morning.

Nice bit of kit, may you have lots of fun with it, may I echo the above comments 'Take care'

I wanted a bike when I left school but Dad absolutely refused, never the less I have always felt an affinity with motorcycle riders and I would like to think that I always give them consideration when I'm driving, how I wish I could say the same for all motorists.

:) I've had bikes, I've had landrovers - as boys toys bikes win hands down. Sorry.

Far safer than 2 wheels! (hammer) (hammer)

Mine and My wifes Landys during an exercise in Thetford Forest a few weeks ago!

Nice bike, very nice, and I don't want you all to think I'm trying to be superior or anything like that,
but,
I can put you Yamaha / Land Rover guys to shame, because as a youngster (many years ago) I had a

RALEIGH RUNABOUT moped

slower by far than a Honda 50 (or even the average sporty push bike)

needed pedal power help to get up anything more than slight hills

also needed pedal power to get going from stationary.

0-60 in, er no actually 0-25 in quite a long time.

It was great fun though. Now I have an ageing Discovery diesel.

Seriously though, enjoy your new-found road freedom, take care, keep safe, stay alive (and if you bring your bike to West Wales, take good care to avoid ageing drivers behind the wheel of ageing Discovery's).

Thanks guys, warnings heeded. Now is SWIMBO's Lanny the camouflage one Rog? or is it the blue one with the bling? Yes Phil I really wanted a cruiser style bike and it just had to be a 'V' twin for the sound. i have never been a fan of sports bikes having tried a few. another deciding factor on a Virago was it's size as I am only 5' 2" and 7 stone wet through! I can place both feet flat on the floor on this and it is very comfortable. I did consider a Dragstar but wasn't impressed with the forward foot position on them. As for safety I have been taking lessons as I haven't ridden a bike since the 70's so didn't trust myself to just hop on it. :D

well if you want to compare 4 wheel drives heres mine

This is the 750 Mark. It is a 1992 and has only done 16000 miles. It has been really well looked after with no expense spared. My friends were amazed at how sweet the motor sounds. Needless to say I am very happy with my purchase. :D
