I have had Surform tools since I went to college in the late 60's. They have had a lot of use over the years, and done a good job. I enjoy using power tools, and have a number of bits, cutters and sanding drums. they all make dust!. I have promised myself a Microplane sanding drum for ages. Bandsaw, rotary cut, finish with the sanding drum. The vat increase has prompted me to buy a pair of rotary cutters, 1" and 2" dia. A flat, round and square file, all from Turners retreat. Anyone used the shop or the Microplane tools?

Shop is very good - service is great. Microplane tools - some of the best at what they do. I have a variety - some for cheese and some for wood!! I got the set to attach to the sander as disks - great stuff.

Velcro attach just like a sanding disk. Don't know about lifespan - I've used them quite a bit and they are still functioning. Other Microplane items seem to last for a long time, so I'm expecting these to do so also.
