Wouldn't call it a masterstroke, maybe a bit of a gamble, after all he is 29 and injury prone, but could be a Ole Gunnar Solksjear supersub type player, providing he gets fit.
Then you never know what will happen, look at Heskey, he got back in the England team.
Exactly, Ole went down as a legend in United history. I really think that Owen could recreate this 'supersub' stardom. And of course, getting one over on Liverpool would be great! It is a gamble, but what a gamble if it pays off!
Oh dear!!!
???
Well Mark let me explain,if you did my workshop tour you would know that I follow Liverpool.
Now not wanting to start a football riot on the forum  It just made me laugh to read the bit about getting one over Liverpool would be great.
Actually I think it is the other way round,Michael Owen was a great player when he played for us,and since he left, at club level he really has not been the same player, agreed?
Now for the good bit, IMO he has and never will get back to where he was so when Sir Alex gave him the number 7 shirt it is quite funny. When you think of the legends that played in the number 7 shirt for United and now he is wearing it just does not seem right.
I have a mate who is a staunch United fan and is a member of the United forum/message boards and it is not going down well him having the Number 7 shirt by all accounts.
Having said all that and it is TIC, he will probably get the winner agaisnt us at Anfield so he who laughs etc etc,
Anyway no malice meant.
Mark.
