Hi everyone.

Not been round these parts for a while, had a very busy few months, moving house, holidays etc all coming at once.

But i have been spending what spare time i have had wisely, and have now got my workshop nearly complete.

here's some pics

The site before i started.

I wanted to remove what i thought were just raised beds when we bought the house, but on closer inspection realised that i might be messing up the neighbours foundations by removing them, so my only option was to build on top of it, which compromised the height i could build to, because of the landing window on the side of the house.

Pulled down the shoddy brick wall that was there and built a proper retaining wall in concrete block. To one side of the wall i poured a series of concrete pads to support the shed, while on the other side i built a timber frame between the wall and house wall. All new techniques to me, so was hard work, but i enjoyed it.

Thats as far as i got with the pics i'm afraid, i always forget to keep up with proper WIP pics.

The roof is now finished and i'm just in the process of insulating and lining the inside.

Come on Matt, get a move on.
Glad to see your getting there, keep the piccies coming please.

All very inspiring and you have overcome some hard problems with the height issues, it looks like you got a ready made wood store under the floor too =D>

Thanks chaps, hopefully it'll be all finished in a couple of weeks.

Looking good - must be better than using the spare room, isn't it ?

It certainly is. But looking at my pile of tools in the dining room, i'm not sure i'm gonna fit them all in, even tho i have twice the space i used too. :? God only knows where i'm gonna put my new machines when they arrive. Am thinking of getting the 8" cast iron table saw from axminster, and i've got the deal of the century on a sedgwick morticer and multico bandsaw. :D

Thats what i was thinking, not got room in the shed for it, but have been eyeing the space underneath. Do you think it will be ok to store wood under there, raised of the floor?

Will try and remember to take some more pics at weekend.

I'm off to remove the ply that i have aready lined the walls with as i've forgotten to put my vapour barrier up first #-o Serves me right for rushing, good job i hadn't done much.

Matt.
