life Line Screening

Received some spam snail mail this week from an organization called Life Line Screening.

Stating the are in the Torbay area shortly and offering a screening service on heart/vascular functions etc.

The fee requested is £139. Anyone on the forum know of this setup before I comment in any critical fashion?

I got it as well it went into the bin why do i need to pay for something that i am being treated on the NHS for.

If you think you would like a check-up, just tell your doctor you have pains running down your left arm and in your chest!

Yeah and then tell him you would like him to fill up your driving license application for 80 years of age.

They have been doing it around the Nottingham area for a couple of years now. Whatever you do DON'T go or pay anything it is a ripoff. You can get exactly the same scans on the NHS for free.

For what it's worth! They sent me similar paperwork some time ago listing the supposed advantages of their service.
None of the tests they listed would have detected my cancer. A PSA test costs about 12 pound locally.

SWMBO is a practice nurse at a NHS GP practice.
The practice have "targets" to hit as do most around the country.

So long as you are flexible, they will welcome you like a long lost son to go for these checks all for free.

My wife says she earns bonuses all due to the "worried well" who clog up the practice. She rants at length how she wants to use her skills on sick people rather than time wasters, but feel free if you must :roll: .
