Lidl are doing a bench grinder / belt sander for £29 today and a jigsaw for £20. 3 year guarantee. Neither of them will be amazing quality, but maybe useful to some as a cheap backup or Christmas presents. The grinder could have the tools stripped off and with a couple of spindles and mops be turned into an ultra cheap polisher.

I was a bit disappointed with Lidl offerings, especially after everyone gave pretty favourable reviews. I bought a circular saw and it does what it says on the tin however the laser is way out of alignment.... It doesn't really affect operation as I use it along a straight edge anyway but I can't get past the miss-aligned laser. I also bought a belt sander, now I've no experience of other belt sanders but I just felt underwhelmed with the speed the belt turns, I thought it would have been faster?

That said, there is the 3 year guarantee and if I was that bothered about them I could return them for a refund, the fact I haven't yet speaks volumes!

Damo, is there not a way to re-align the laser light ?
On my cross-cut; not Lidl, I had to correct it

Just going to my local for the grinder sander

Just been to my local Lidl and wasn't overly impressed with most of it. Aldi have a lot of similar things on offer that seem better quality. Got a stanley knife set from Lidl, and some of those magnetic trays then popped to Aldi for the workboots and a yard brush.

I thought Aldi may have drill bits in, but they only have masonry ones and I'm after some cheap, throwaway wood drill bits.

I might try to do that, apart from the alignment issue it's not bad (certainly for £35)
