They did promote it quite a bit well before it came out ,including sending out giant domino dowels to people.

Maybe you just didn't hear about it ??

Interesting points. I'd be a bit cautious about buying a new Festool 1400 or 1010 router just now, it seems to me that there are so many novel features and benefits on the newer 2200 router that it's only a matter of time before they get incorporated into the smaller routers via new models.
 
I`m thinking of buying the large Domino, thanks for the heads up about the adaptor plate, I didn`t know that existed. Can one of you confirm that a domino joint in an external application is as strong as a traditional mortice & tenon.

Yes, if you use sipo dominos and waterproof glue.
 
Since I started amassing Festool stuff, I have finally realised I have to build another shed in the garden. After that, I'll also need a 6 x 4 for the garden tools etc.! It's never ending. :lol:
