Hi everyone

Well after DaveL come round for a play in my turning workshop

I had another forum member around for a " Spin " on my Woodfast :p

It was John. B from Romford , just up the road from me ,

We started about 11.15am on this

as you can see it had a fault

But John soon turned that away

Starting to form the shape nicely

Some sanding

and polish

Time to turn it over into the chuck jaws and start hollowing it out

Opps . disaster , desperate Dan ( me ) decided to just tweek the jaws and make sure it was nice and tight , BANG , split the foot of the bowl

 , trust me !!

But some extra turning and it was saved and back on track

Getting deeper now

( The bowl, not John ! )
Its brilliant seeing the whole thing pictorially too Allen.. well done on getting those taken, and posted ... its excellent when a story is supported by pictures.

I agree - well done Allen (and John, too, of course)! :)

Seems a while now since Kempton Park, John - nearly arrived at the shortest day too, thank goodness.

Ray.

No not yet Alan,
I'm waiting for an Axminster delivery of jaws for my carvers vice.
much easier to carve on a horizontal plane.
I'll keep you posted!
might nip around to buy some of your abrasive strip though,
John
