Yes folks my new lathe arrived today, after only ordering it on Wednesday.
After lots of thought on which lathe to upgrade to,and after some good recommendations, and advice from forum members,i decided to go for the Hegner HDB 200XL,with a 1hp motor, and after seeing it now for the first time in the flesh,so to speak,it looks a very well made machine, everything just glides and locks in place effortlessly.
It came very well packed i'm glad to say.
Now that my Perform lathe had been sold i had to fill this space again.
This is how the lathe came packed.Very well packed.
Everything was very securely strapped down inside.
The outer box just lifted from the wooden pallet.
Nicely boted down onto the pallet.
I will use these nuts and bolts to secure the lathe in it's new home
The motor and control box were in seperate boxes though they are wired together.
And here is the new lathe in situ withe motor fitted, just 4 bolts, and the control box in place.
I had to change the height of the bench as this lathe is about 6" higher than what the Perform was,but still be able to get the car in
I will even use the pallet as a duckboard to stand on.This helped as it is higher than my previous db,so the bench top could still stay slightly higher.
So there it is.Slightly rushed with the piccys, but i think you will get the gist of whats what.
Can't wait to have a go on it now. Will give a report on it's first turning.
