Is this scots pine?

Got hold of an Edinburgh church pew, uncertain age but looks like machined joints with hand-cut screw slots and cut nails. It's very dense for softwood - rough estimate 750kg/m^3 - but my best guess is scots pine - thoughts? It was a ~5m pew so I've got quite a bit of this.

pews were often made out of pitch pine, it could be scots pine though, I have bought pieces that nice with very tight growth rings.
 
Looks like pitched pine, especially your comment about density and weight.
 
I have been working with that a lot recently (it was all from an old church) it looks very much like Pitch Pine. It is a very hard and dense "soft-wood" with beautiful end grain
