Yo, I'm a new member but I've had a couple years interest in woodworking and stumbled in here after I went down a rabithole of what UK native woods are food safe and good for bow making.
Lmk if u wanna see it I'm open to larger collaboration

It was many many years ago - I used to compete at Scottish club level in "field archery" (which isn't in a field but instead in the forest). Wasn't very good and only reached "B Class" but I loved shooting in the woods and up and down slopes between the trees at targets up to 80 yards away. Recurve bow class.
I keep toying with the idea of buying a cheap bow and going to my local club, but not so excited about shooting in an open field as I would be in the woods again.

Nice tool chest/toy box, by the way.

Welcome from another one time and very mediocre recurve field archer. Great fun.

If you get into longbows, those can be pretty hefty draw weights. 60lbs+ easily and that was nothing compared to the bows of the Agincourt era.

Look forward to more of your photos.
