Instrument cases hardware etc

I want to make several instrument cases (guitars etc) and would like to know of any good sources for fittings; hardware, linings etc.
I thinking of trapezoid shapes rather then the usual travel case as they stand on end or can be leant against the wall and double as instrument stands. And easier to make.

Maplin sell quite a good selection. EBay would be worth a look - I found lots of case corners on offer.

A possible idea for a fitted inside was discussed on here recently wrt fitted tool drawers. It used an old T-shirt and expanding foam.
