Regardles of what wood it is it is a very nice piece.

My guess would be Ash though it looks very like a piece I turned not long ago.

I wouldn't say it was fluffy to turn, but it was trouble-free. I do struggle with some, but not this. I had two pieces which I thought were the same, but the other :



...came out darker. Just oil used. No visible flecks on either piece.
